Hello, my nephew gave me a duck egg to hatch. Its my first time attempting to hatch an egg. I think I am doing everything right except I am only available to turn the egg twice a day, every 12 hrs. Is this okay? Will I hurt the baby by not turning it more often? Also, the egg has been incubating for about six days. If turning it only twice a day will cause damage, is it to late to purchase an electric turner? Any advise will help. I really want to help this baby. Thanks!

They should be ok turning twice a day. (I think) you could get a turner if you wanted, but isn't necessary that's all on what you want to do.. A little time from the heat won't hurt the eggs if you do purchaseone and put it in the incubator. A mama will leave her nest to eat and thing for a little bit evey few days or so.

It's better to turn them an odd number of times, so the chick isn't always resting on the same side during the night when you aren't turning them.
Hi Ruby. I'm on day 14 and decided to candle my duck egg. I did not see any movement. 😞 do you think it died?

I don't know. Sometimes you can't see movement. Can you post a video of your candling and I'll let you know what I think?

I had no luck with video but I will try and upload several pics. Please keep in mind I have not seen any movement while candling this morning.
