Hi y'all! I have a question about hatching my own eggs. I have 6 black sex link hens, 3 white leg horn hens, and a buff orpington roo. If i try to hatch the eggs from the sex links and my roo, will the chicks be ok? I dont care so much about breed, im just wondering since the sex links are a hybrid about deformities. It may be a really stupid question but please forgive me, this is my first time trying to hatch my own. Genetics fail me lol.

I don't think there will be a problem. Sex link simply means that the chicks of these breeds have differences in color in hens and roosters making it easy to distinguish sex immediately. Genetically, the color is on the sex chromosomes. No deformities should result in the cross you are planning.

Thank you! I had just read so much about the cornish x not breeding true and having weak offspring if you did manage to breed them that i was worried about the others being mixes :).
