Question about how to place eggs for shipment

I want to educate myself before leaving a review for this seller. This is my 4th order of hatching eggs and the packaging is very different from the other 3 orders I've bought. The way they have been placed in the box sideways. Is this normal way of shipping eggs? My other orders were all like you'd store them in a carton point end down fat end up. Eggs are not in good shape internally detached air sac.

My brother was a rural route carrier for the post office before he retired. He said they had some employees that seemed to take pleasure in tossing boxes marked fragile but that the majority of employees tried to do it right. Just like any other business one poor quality of a human being can make it bad for any business or group. Knowing that the majority of people at the post office are decent human beings I try to mark fragile packages fragile. I think it will help a lot more often than it hurts.

With that in mind, I'd package the eggs pointy side down, large air sac side up. Try to do it the right way.

Were the eggs cushioned inside that egg carton? I'd want cushioning around each individual egg so they could not bang on each other.

I thought that could of been a possibility but the amount of packing paper inside and the placement of the extra egg I didn't see it really being a possibility. I'm a rural carrier myself I know the abuse shipping has. The packaging was very good.

I left a positive review for them, everything was good just how the eggs were placed was disappointing. Hopefully I can get the air cell to attach again. They will rest for a day or so. I just wanted to know if shipping them sideways was a normal thing. The carton was so nestled in the packaging paper I don't think it was moved during shipping. Everything on Google says air cell up no matter if shipping or collecting from own flock.

Hopefully they still have a chance. Maybe in your review you could mention that the eggs were shipped in a carton on its side which most likely contributed to the air cells being detached. But I have had detached air cells many time when shipped upright. When the eggs are surrounded by pillow fluff, I have had amazing success rates. If I ever ship they will be fat end up, double boxed, with a ton of pillow fluff surrounding them!!!
