That is because it's not really a tracking number unless you send it Express, the other deliver methods are mostly a delivery confirmation number that happens to sometimes get scanned and tracked in the system... I ship A LOT of things USPS and I have to explain this probably a dozen times a week to people, about it not being a real tracking number just a delivery confirmation number... If someone wants real tracking go with FedEx overnight, they track quite well, but the other 'slow' FedEx shipping methods tracking has got worse this years since they switched to trains over trucks/planes for many cross country hops... They scan it when it's loaded on a train and again when it comes off, this could be a 3-4 day trip with no updates...No tracking with Ideal. But I've learned those tracking #'s don't do any good anyway - by the time the USPS updates it, it's already been delivered!
