I agree kids shouldn't be chasing chicks. Having said that, my 4 yo has become quite proficient in catching the chickens, holding them and walking around carrying them. She's fast at swooping down and getting them the first time, so there isn't chasing involved. I like it because she's helping keep them calm and relatively tame by spending time with them that I don't have!
