question about lime and coop

    ok i have 5 chickens in a coop with a run that is 8 feet longand 4 feet wide first of all is that big enofe for 5 chicken they are let out every day 2 to 8.30. and if so woulds i have rroom for one more they are sexlinks.

    my other question was about lime can i put lime uder the coop to help with smell. but they could get it when they are let out. and if so ho long will it last under the coop

    You have 32 square feet in your coop and a chicken is happy with about 4 square feet each, so we take 32 divided by 4 and we get 8. So your coop can house 8 hens comfortably. For every chicken you need 1 foot of roosting bar. If you have at least 8 foot of roosting space then you can add three more hens, if you also provide a run for them too.
