Question about mixing Cayuga and Saxony

We're taking on 5 females and 1 male Saxony soon. But my husband and daughter are both like "But the Cayuga is soooo pretty!" And she got her puppy dog eyes from him and I'm sucker. So I'm wondering if I could add a female Cayuga to the flock. I don't want a drake because I don't want to mix breeds just yet, I'd like to hatch a few pure Saxonys for my friend's homestead first. However, I'm concerned that a Cayuga is smaller than a Saxony and the drake might harass her. I'm getting a lot of different info on how big these birds get. Some sites say Cayugas are 5-6lb and a Saxony drake is 8-9lb, other sites say they're both 6-7lb.

So can anyone verify that they are similarly sized birds or not, share some advice, tell me if this is an awful idea, force reality to make sense again?

Welcome to BYC!

According to the Livestock Conservancy- Saxony weighs 8-9 pounds and Cayuga weighs 7-8 pounds. They are close enough in size you shouldn't have any problems with breeding just make sure you have a correct ratio.
