When organic materials start to go bad 2 things happen. First, bacteria levels increase to unsafe levels. The second part is that some of this bacteria produces toxic chemicals, call it bacteria poop, that heat doesn't destroy.
I suppose if the turkey was thawed for a while or sat at room temp and then was cooked at 180 degrees, was 30 pounds and full of stuffing, it could possibly get someone sick. It's a good theory but in reality it's bunk.
I think that "other forum" is trying to just play it safe.
The same rules hold true for fish yet about a billion of us eat raw fish and other meats quite often. No, I wouldn't eat raw chicken or hamburger from a grocery store.
