~Question About Probiotics For Chickens~

I have some sick birds and have begun the Sulmet treatment for them....now it was suggested that I start them on a probiotics program, can someone please explain what that would entail?
Forgive my question but I am not sure what I should be doing!

i believe that you just need to be giving them some yogurt each day no less than tbls for each chicken
i could be wrong
