Ok so im ordering soon a incubator for hatching out 2 dozen jumbo brown coturnix quail and maybe a dozen texas a&m quail eggs. After there hatched out I plan on raising just those quail as my breeding flock and maybe butcher some males if there are to many. After that when my breeding flock start laying plenty of fertilized eggs ill save them and hatch those out as meat quail. My question is after I have hatched out the ones for meat which is all of them will they all be okay in the same pen for 8-10 weeks when they reach butchering age?Am I making much sense here lol

Ok Pringle lemme see is I got this correct... Coturnix quail, you want to hatch chicks and put them back into your community breeder pen till they mature to harvest age right?

If so, NO the adults will likely kill the young unless they are at least 6 wks old and even then it could get ugly.

Ok then lol thanks ima have to put em in a different pen all for themselves but will it matter if like half of them are males until I butcher them?
