Question about sand

Ok, we are setting up our coop on an old gravel pit where the previous house owner had a swing set.

The pea gravel is tiny enough that they can use it if they need it, not to mention an assortment of weeds for them to devour. However, upon closer inspection we found this dark blue play sand mixed into it, from the old owners small children.
Is that going to be harmful for them to ingest/digest? Or will it be fine and just cause them to poo blue if they eat it?

I have 2 thoughts on this

Blue playsand is available, it is non-toxic for kids and pets, but it probably has never been studied in chickens. Can you be sure it is playsand?

I would not worry about it, especially if it has been out there for a long time. But ultimately it is up to you. If it worries you, might be easier on your nerves to remove it.

Yup it is blue play sand as the neighbors boy verified that they used to play with it together. Its been there for over three years now, so I guess it should not be a worry there?
