Question About Selling Baby Chicks

If I have a 100% hatch I'll have about 96 baby chicks! 4 dozen under 4 hens and the rest in the bator. So my question is, how long should I wait before I take the chicks away from their moms to sell? And how much should I sell them for? 6 dozen are going to be purebreed Black Australorps and the rest are mixes.

If you leave the hens with just a few they will still be happy. They can't count.

As for pricing... Depends on your local area. I sell day olds for $2-$3 if they are standards or mixes, and $5 each if they are silkies. If they are started, the girls go for $5-7 each and the roos for $3 each.
