Question about silkie eggs and the egg carton metod.

So my silkie eggs are too tiny for the egg cartons. They kinda sit sideways not straight up and down. So I wanna try the egg carton metod next time so how do I do this when the egg cups are too big for the small silkie eggs????

If you are putting them in a cardboard egg carton they will be fine. I am wondering about the size of the eggs though. I have never seen a small silkie egg. The only ones I have seen where pretty good size, not jumbos, but not bad either.

I only have the plastic egg cartons...Here is a pic of some of my eggs in an egg carton before going into the bator.

(dont mind some of the dirty ones one of my girls loves mudd..LOL)

As you see they are no tight they lean on one side.

I did my last hatch in that type of egg carton. It did fine but I am new to the hatching world. I did bbr's and their eggs just tipped from side to side when I turned them. You can always cut the carton down more to fit the hieght of the egg.

What I was wondering was would this effect them when they was zipping being leaned up aganist the sides of the carton?

I hatched silkies in cartons last spring and they did fine.

They zipped around with no problem.
