after pipping, there is no more movement. how long to wait? what is going on in there?
Whats going on is the chick is resting.it is hard work for them so they will work awhile then rest........................
can be 24 hrs or more to hatch

I have 8 pipped out of 17 now. They are peeping as well. 74% humidity, I think that's good. maybe there will be chicks in the morning.

Woke up this morning to LOUD peeping! Looked in the incubator to see 4 chicks! I put them in the brooder. One more egg is peeping loudly and he/she seems hard at work pecking though the shell. it is about 2/3 of the way around. My little Yorkie has the excited shakes. YAY!!!
Pictures to follow.......

I wasn't really prepared for the babies. I was expecting them on Sunday. Luckily my daughter had just moved back in from college and had these plastic totes. I had a reflector light in the shed and put a layer of paper towels in the bottom. I like this tote, so I will leave the chicks in it. We can see through and check on them. Our Yorkie, Benji, has claimed them as his babies. The little guy can't quit. I ran to the CoOp and bought a bag of chick starter and a waterer. I am a little scared of it, it is open and I am afraid they will get their head stuck in the water. I am headed to the Tractor Supply later to get some sand and see of there is a better waterer.
