Hi! I've never incubated eggs before but my dad wants to bring some Ameraucana fertilized eggs to his home country. Is it possible to start the incubation before taking the flight to his country. Its a 6 hour flight so the incubator will be turned off for roughly 10 hours. He will be flying back before the 21 day mark and is nervous to leave all the responsibly to his mother and brother who aren't aware of what to do. Will the eggs survive that extend amount of time without power?

If he is allowed to fly with them I would not start incubation prior to leaving. The eggs may need some time to settle not knowing if he could board the plane with them or not, but I seriously doubt as I already mentioned he will be allowed to take them on a plane.

I ship eggs all over the US and I'm sure they travel by air as I use 2nd day priority mail. I ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so there is less of a chance the eggs will get stuck in transit.

...what would even happen to eggs on an airplane? Would they explode?
No, but that's not why eggs aren't allowed on airplanes. Eggs count as liquid, and you aren't allowed to bring your own liquids on to an airplane. It's also illegal to import hatching eggs with out the proper paperwork (including vet statements and health certifications).
