QUESTION: Button Quail advice Needed!

I find buttons are not noisy what so ever. My females crow just like the male, not sure if this is normal but oh well. And they'll only crow if their separated from each over. But occasionally you'll get a crow now and then. And agreed with DC about the pet thing, except they are wonderful company and are cute to watch! The happier you keep them the funnier they are. Try different things like giving them treats or putting some plants in their home for them to explore and play with.

I am thinking of entering the world of quail with some button quail. I have read CyberQuail's website, but I still have so many questions to ask before I am ready, and would like several people's real-time, experienced input. So, here it goes:

1. How loud are they as room-mates?
2. I have seen them raised in glass aquariums. I can make sliding screen doors in the front, would that be better than reaching in from above while adding ventilation?
3. Can they be as tame as chickens if hand raised from egg?
4. Was wondering if I can take them outdoors in a pen on nice days to get some real sunlight and foraging.
5. Anything important to know for a first time quail owner? I know about the " 'Boink' factor"

I had this 55g tank sitting around so I thought we may put it to use if we can---
I am really looking for a new type of bird that I can keep indoors. My mom won't let me bring my chickens indoors (long story), so I am looking for a smaller, quieter alternative that I can convince her of. We've narrowed it down to a couple small quail or doves, but I would like to do my research before making my decision.

Thanks!
Hi i got into button quails because well basically i was challenged. I was not sure what to do really. Button quails are small and will fit full grown into a small womans hand. I found that the aquarium works best for me because i keep them inside. I bought the reptile wire tops and turned the aquarium on its side (more space this way) i also use the cat auto water bowls so the water is clean. They have a wire latter to the water. They i bought a feeder that they have to stick their heads in otherwise they think its sand. Also instead of buying a small bag of crumble witch is about 12$ i buy it in a 50lb bag for 21$. I use hamster litter and clean weekly. Aquarium lights shine through the side which is now the top. If you text me 804-971-2257 i will be happy to share my pics and chat about my buttons. I have just hatched 3 serama chickens and you feed them the same as buttons. My name is [email protected]
