question? can chickens eat unriped tomatoes

My chickens keep getting into the tomatoe garden and knock down some tomatoes they eat the green and the red ones. I don't mind but are the green ones safe for them to eat? I don't want them to get sick

Mine do the exact same thing, they are always getting into my garden beds. But I don't mind if they eat a few things here and there because they keep tomato worms, pill bugs, and ants out of the garden. Nothing has ever happened to my chickens but I really don't know.

My chickens love ripe or unripe tomatoes. They are perfectly fine for them.

Chickens love tomatoes, ripe or unripe. My birds have never died from eating the unripe ones, so I would say the are ok to eat. Too many of them will probably give them diarrhea however.

Unripe and ripe tomatoes are perfectly fine to feed. Just so long as they aren't rotten or moldy.

Thank you for the question. I just caught mine eating a green tomato and freaked. I had read they were poisonous and would cause death. Again, backyard chickens answered my question and calmed my fear.
