Apologize if this is in the wrong area, couldn't really figure out where it should belong. And I've read or searched on the net and can't find anything that helps, so I'm asking here. I just foudn out that my dh adn I are expecting our 2nd. I have 45 chickens. Dh really doesn't like messing with them and they are mine so that is fine. BUT is it safe for me to be out in the coop with them being pregnant? I ask becuase I know you are not supposed to have cats becuase of the poop while pg and I 'heard' that caged birds were the same way????

As long as you wash your hands and use normal good hygiene you should be fine. I had three normal kids and took care of chickens (and cattle), have always had house birds (parakeets and cocketiels) and I also changed the litter box thru all my pregnancies

Obviously lifting feed bags would be something you might want some help with.

Congrats on the baby :-)
