Hi, hope you are enjoying BYC!
Listen, no matter where you live parasites and disease are about the same... possibly enhanced some by weather conditions.
I suggest getting a fecal float done before worming any animal... to make sure IF you even need to treat and if you do to be sure you are treating for the correct parasite with the correct medicine since they aren't all effective across the board.
Treating without reason is costly, ineffective, time consuming... and most importantly can cause resistance of said parasites to the meds we have available rendering them useless over time.
Best preventative measures you can take IMO... don't invite wild birds or animals to frequent your pasture, good flock nutrition not diminished to heavily by treats, and good basic coop/pasture/flock maintenance practices(aka no overcrowding and waste removal).
Oh... AND not adding birds from other flocks (or rescuing) can go a LONG way!
