Question for homeschoolers

Was thinking about trying TT next year, they are using sos this year but sometimes it doesn't explain things to clear.

I've tried SOS a couple of times and just don't like it at all. My kids got bored and frustrated with it. TT is WONDERFUL for math, worth every cent!

Here is a great place to start reading up on laws, legal home school news and individual states.

Also if you search in your area or state you maybe able to find a local home school group. If not on the internet then check with your local library. Most home schoolers use the library a lot. I know we have.

My kids do Time4Learning over the summers to keep up.

Projects like a coop build would incorporate ALL subjects to me!

We would consider the research for science and language arts skills while they searched for information about chickens (including BYC!)

Coop design is math math math and science!

The we write up books about the project - language arts.

Then we looked up domestication of animals - science, social studies, and language arts.....

Schools do this type of incorporated curriculum ALL the time. Think through all the lessons a kid can get out of baking a cake!

I'd encourage anyone who is curious about homeschooling to look into it; there's so much written about and for homeschoolers now! Why? Because it works, helps everyone learn and do more interesting things, and brings a family close together, sharing sound values...and most of the time, it's really fun! We homeschooled our three for 13 years, and they are now in their 20's. Just to be reassuring, it doesn't damage your kids' chances later for college or good jobs...ours have degrees and good jobs and are independent thinkers.
