Question For Those Brooding Ducklings & Chicks Together

I wish I had property big enough to have a huge coop with plenty of room for a brooder...unfortunately, I don't. I'm a small town suburban dweller with a just under a 1/4 acre lot. For now, I'll just have to live with the smell in the house. It's not so much the mess, we've got a pretty good handle on that. It's the overwhelming smell that gets to us. I did read a lot on brooding them together before I decided to do it, so I knew the mess was going to be bad. Just didn't realize just how the smell would be. I was just hoping someone had a great way to get rid of the smell. Oh well, we'll be ok for the few more weeks till we can move them outside (as long as we don't drop dead from the smell

Do you have a spare bathroom with a tub to brood the ducks in, or even a shower with a door?

This is our second year brooding ducklings (and goslings this year, too!) and we put them in our hall bathroom tub. We use puppy pads to line the bottom of the tub (two fit perfectly), and change them out a couple times a day. Keeps down the mess, and the smell!

Darn, that sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, our second bathroom is only a half bath. No spare shower or tub. Have to make sure our next house has a spare bathroom.
