Question for you Arabian Horse people

I have had my bask (polish)/serafix (crabbet) arabian for almost 10 years, and he is everything you are talking about. He is big boned, extremely well put together, extra sensitive and very bonded to humans over other horses. I think I can dig up the breeder information, if you want it. There is a place in northern California, as well as Vancouver, Washington (if I recall correctly) for these lines.

Another source for good solid arabs is through the classifieds section on www.endurance.net.

Finally, while unknown, I would recommend www.hedgeville.ca. I have a polish arab/percheron cross from them who is amazing. He has all the great arab qualities, with a calmer disposition and bigger size. He completed his first 2 LD races as a 6yo with flying colors, and can handle pretty much any terrain thrown at him.

I LOVE Polish/Crabbet Arabians. o me, that is the perfect horse.

It's sad that these bloodlines are going "out of fashion" in favor of the tall, lean Arabs that look like Saddlebreds.

The desert-bred Arabians of 100+ years ago look nothing like the Arabs in the showrings today. And yes, looking for an "endurance Arab" is a good way to find something sane and athletic. They are usually quite a bit cheaper than showstock anyway/
