(Pre-Covid days my older sister got a cold just before my Mom was to give birth to my youngest sister, and my Mom had her quarantine in her room so my Mom wouldn't get sick when she went into labor or have anyone else sick that'd need her care.)

My question also included Time as a POW.
I did not do any time as Local prisoner, or POW.
BUT,,,,,,,,
My grandfather (fathers' side) did POW during WW2
Was released at end of war.

My uncle (mothers' side) POW WW2
Did not return.

I am sorry about your uncle.

One of my paternal great uncles was a prisoner of war in Korea for two years. And two other great uncles were in WWII. One came back, one didn’t.
