Question of the Day - Monday, August 12th, 2024

Never say never, but ya. Never. 3.5 miles of dirt road before we reach pavement, so it's pointless. The only reasonable color for a car out here would be sand.

We had a black car that we called Guiness.... because it was black and tan (dirt).

I've never heard that
Straight from Google.

"Typically, only the wash water from the cleaning phase is recycled; the water from the wax and tire shine area go directly to the sanitary sewer. The wash water is directed to a series of settling pits (typically 3–4 at 1500 gallons each) which allows the solids to settle out."

What they don't say is that salts are in solution and don't settle out.

The last time I washed my car was a year ago. As long as I can see out of the windows I call it good.

Wow, is all I can say to these answers lol

I have them all washed at least every month or so. But, I don't do it. I can't remember the last time I washed a vehicle. I have someone that does it for me at a really good discounted rate.

Dang, I'm a freak. :th
No, no, you’re not.

Living in an area that causes it to get that dirty is not a reason to not wash, but a reason to wash it more frequently is how I see it. I used to be one of these that wouldn’t wash it if there was a chance of rain later in the day, or the next day. I finally figured out that it doesn’t matter. It is going to rain at sometime, so as long as it isn’t raining at the time, go ahead, or you may be waiting awhile.

Vehicles are important to most of us, so take care of them. If you were in the old west, would you not take care of your horse?

It is probably psychological, but my vehicles feel as though they ride and run better when clean.

:hugs Thank you. The horse comparison makes sense. Yes, it's just going to get dirty again, but that's no reason not to wash it. I'll tell you a truth: my vehicles seem to run better, longer and need less maintenance than DH's. ;) He rarely washes his vehicle.

I feel the same way about my desk. Everything is so much smoother if I clean the 20 gallons of dust that blows inside in one day.
