At the most 3 times. Once on a girlfriends, who said just try it, another in Texas who could follow the trail blind folded, and last and final ride with my wife who had horses since she was a kid and was a barrel racer thought it quite funny that my "cheeks" were nothing but one big raspberry for days. I saw nothing funny about my shorts sticking to my back side.

I am not a horse person, but in the few times I've done it. I'm more comfortable and competent riding bareback like for trail as opposed to in a saddle.

Rode my 1st pony bareback until I got a saddle .Wore the hair right off his back that summer (friction).

Yes, I have ridden many many different horses. I've never had one of my own, and lately prefer more to work with them from the ground, as I've ridden too many rude stubborn horses who kind of spoiled it for me.

Mostly English (dressage, 3-day, jumpers, hunters, pleasure), but I have ridden western (used to do gymkhana). What sort of showing do you do?
