Skipping ahead just for today.

Today's question is from @tripletfeb:
@casportpony here is a question for Memorial Day
Do you have any veterans in your family, that died in service? No need to go into details if it's too hard to do
No, but my grandfather was injured.

Yes.
PFC Marion Mills, age 26, died July 20,1944 in Saint-Patrice-de-Claids, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France during WW11.

PFC Charlie A. Phillips, age 27, killed in action on Aug 27, 1951 in Korea.

There is one I know of during the War of 1812 and another from the American Revolutionary War. I don't have their information handy.

Thanks for picking my question, Kathy!
I haven't lost any family in action, that I know of. My grandfather served in WWII and was engaged to my grandmother when he left. Refused to marry her before because he said he did not want her to be a young widow if something should happen to him. Thank God he came back! My husband's uncle served in Veitnam, as did my brother in law's father who died from the effects of Agent Orange later in life. Lots of family members currently serving. Thank you to those who gave their life for us, there is no greater love. May your soul rest in peace in the Lord
