Question of the Day - Saturday, November 16th, 2024

I have never, but I have been out on deep fishing trips when plenty of other people did. The first time I went out at about age 12 the conditions were really rough. I was the only kid out of somewhere around 13-14 people, and the only one that was not sick for the whole day other than the Captain. The first mate even got sick when one of our crew threw up on him.

Yeah that's why I said "not yet". Worst I've been out in was 8-10 foot seas so I figure there's a point somewhere north of that where I'd get sick too. Especially since I'm rarely on the water.

On our honeymoon, we went to Isle Royale. On the boat over, I felt very close to losing my breakfast. Every time I moved, I had to wait for my insides to settle down. That's the closest I've every been to sea sick.

I have gotten sick on carnival rides.

I have never been out with it being as rough as it was that day since then. It was incredible. When we would go down between the swells there was nothing but walls of water. When we came up, you feet would leave the deck. We got so many fish that day, though. The most of all the trips I have been on.

All the grown ups had been drinking on into the night before, so that probably played into them getting sick to some extend.

Could I handle it now like I could as a 12 year old? I don't know.
