Question of the Day - Sunday, August 18th, 2024

Don't think I had one favorite. I was into realistic plush dogs (still have many of them) and my DIY dollhouse with horse stables setup.
When I was really young I liked this one plush elephant made of a windbreaker-type material but I later traded it for another toy so I guess I wasn't that attached to it. 😄

Mrs. Beasley doll. 5 years old and I carried Mrs. Beasley EVERYWHERE. Naturally I'd lost her glasses. Then, one fateful day in 1971 my awful cousin Bill flushed her down the toilet. I dont know how he did it! But he did. My dad heard me screaming bloody murder and he and my uncle (Bill's dad) came down and boy, Bill got it from both of them. My dad because of the plumbing issue, my uncle for making the only girl in the family *to that point* cry.

Years later we found out Bill is on the Autism Spectrum. Autism (any mental health matters really) was not explored for the everyday child in the 1970's. I'm glad there have been so many advancements and knowledge discovered since then. He still shouldn't have flushed Mrs. Beasley though.

Wow. As a child, I'm not sure I could have gotten to sleep with one of those in my room . . .

I don't remember any stuffed animals I had as a kid that I cared about.
Can I go with Mouse? I still have him but I got him last year 🤣
