I'm working on learning a few letters at a time, and not in order. It's easier for me to learn a few that have a similar pattern, like N, D, and B.
-./-../-...

This is how my mind works: those three letter have a dash, followed by (their bumps + 1) dots.
N has no bumps, so one dot
D has 1 bump, so two dots
B has 2 bumps, so three dots

You might know that the distress code SOS is ... --- ...

R would look like a rooster if the dash were vertical. (Well, it works for me!)
