Question of the Day - Sunday, July 28th, 2024

I always tell my son, "There are no secrets in this house, unless it's a Christmas or birthday present". I go through his phone and tablet on the regular. The computer is in the livingroom. He is not allowed to be in his room, on any electronic device. It is my job, as a mom, to protect him. I know you get it but I fully expect these young kids to be annoyed for my son
Heck, I didn’t even have a phone till I was almost 17. You’re his mom, it’s up to you how you parent him. Not really anyone else’s business.

Trust me, you don't want to know "everything" a teenage son is doing.

That's what a diary is for.

But, if you really want to get back at her, I would suggest writing in there that you have been sneaking this boy in at night, you are pregnant, and you think it is twins.
Bad Bill! Bad advice!

I've already raised one son, I can handle another

When I was growing up people would gift me diaries for some reason. I'd make an attempt, fill a few pages, and promptly remember why I dislike diaries. What I do like is this thing I got my mother to do with me. We keep a journal and take turns thinking up a weekly prompt, like "how do you think your life would be different without animals?" or "describe your first kiss." At the end of the year we mail our journals to the other so we can read them, and we continue writing about new prompts until the end of that year when we mail the journals back again, repeating indefinitely. I've learned a lot about my mother this way.
That's cool!
