Question of the Day - Sunday, November 30th, 2025

I had a terrible reaction to where a poison ivy leaf lightly stroked my leg last year and I also happened to be bitten by a brown recluse on the same leg about the same time. Still have scar from both. My calf was tomato red for a couple of months. So I'm gonna say yes, allergic to poison ivy, lol.

Seasonal allergies here in MO where moss grows all around the trees, not just on the north side, and where trees literally explode with pollen. Now allergic to cats too. Never had allergies till I moved to Planet MO.

I used to be allergic to a lot of things, including dairy wheat and peanuts lol. I've grown out of most except for wheat. As I grow up I develop more allergies though. I have a bizarre intolerance to absorbic acid though so I have to watch how much fruit I eat or fruit juice I drink.

I've gotten hives off and on for years but no known cause, despite years of testing. I don't know about ivy, oak, or sumac. Don't know if I've ever touched it, I try to stay away. I am allergic to penicillin, so are my triplet sisters, we all developed the allergy later in life
I only recently learned that adult-onset penicillin allergies are a thing. I've told my (grown) kids to make sure their doctors know about my allergy, just in case it pops up later. I certainly hope it doesn't. It's scary!

So far, I haven't seemed to be allergic, unlike my sister. She breaks out in serious hives, if she isn't cautious when clearing the tree line. Unfortunately, she has a terrible habit of not putting on protective gear. Her excuse, she forgot to take it with her. Maybe someday she will learn.
