Do you talk to animals like you do people?

I say things to them, like "you're a silly bird", or "you're a naughty pony".

No, I talk nicely to animals and birds.

All the time. Most recently: “Go away and quit bugging me” and “I thought I told you to stop leaving your toys all over the floor.”

Kinda? I talk to them in English, but if I talked to people the way I talked to my birds I'd get some very funny looks. And I'm always calling the boys sexy, which is something one of my visiting friends recently gave me grief for. The friend said it's okay to call them cute, but sexy sounds wrong and weird. That friend is very urban, though, so maybe that's why they think it's weird? I grew up around cattle and sheep ranchers, and I distinctly remember the ranchers of the area gathering to admire a new bull or ram, talking about how "That's one sexy bull you got there, Ray." I mean, how the heck else am I supposed to describe these sexy beasts?

"Cute" simply does not cut it!

Absolutely. They talk to me, albeit in their language. My chickens recognize my voice before they see me!

I've gotten into the habit of referring to all my animals (geese, chickens, ducks, horses, dog) as if they are a goose, generally saying "good goose". If there are multiple together then they are gooses. This doesn't not translate well when to talking to other people about geese.
