Question of the Day, Thursday, February 27th, 2025

I've gotten into the habit of referring to all my animals (geese, chickens, ducks, horses, dogs) as if they are a goose, generally saying "good goose". If there are multiple together then they are gooses. This doesn't not translate well when to talking to other people about geese.

A kindred spirit! Except everything on my farm is either a bird, goose, or duckle - never a duck, only duckle. And there's definitely no geese here, but lots of gooses. Sometimes baby gooses will appear, at which point I have "goggles."

Oh, I should say, I do make a point of often talking to my birds in their own language. For instance:

"Guinea! Guinea guinea guinea guinea guinea guinea? Guinea guinea!"
Which translates to, "Hey guys, why don't y'all go out and eat all the ticks in the woods rather than gorging on the duck's food? That's rude!"

Or, "Goose goose goose goose goose goose goose goose, goose goose goose goose goose goose?"
Which translates to, "Well Tex, you may have a point about the topography of far eastern regions not being conducive to the evolution of proper nest building technique, but have you considered factoring in non-euclidean geometry?"

Or, "Chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chick."
Which translates to, "Chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken rooster."

Same lol. I chant Goose! Goose! Goose! whenever they are having a big group honking session. I love duckle lol.
