Question of the Day - Thursday, October 9th, 2025

Spend some time outside. That could be observing the chickens, tending to the plants, training the dog while on a walk, or just sitting and admiring a nice bird call.

Alternatively, swearing :p

It depends a little on what kind of bad mood it is and/or what is the impetus for it. I just deal with it and wait for it to pass for the most part. However, if there is a specific reason for it that can be dealt with then I will weigh it out and maybe deal with it head on.
Also, there are times when a ranting partner comes in handy especially when it comes to your job. There can be things that happen there that you have no control over that puts you in a bad mood. So, a good ranting partner that you can rant to each other at times and say nasty things legit or not about whoever or whatever can help. Just be absolutely sure you have the right person to be your rant partner. You had better be sure you really know them and that they are solid lest you end up in another bad mood for a whole other reason.

I like to write out my thoughts as they come up in my mind, listening to each voice, letting them respond to each other, noticing things and gradually getting some distance. Then maybe, if I can reach a calmer place, offering myself a wider perspective. If I can’t, sometimes I share my writing with someone I trust, and then we talk about it. It’s a lot easier to have a fruitful conversation if I write first and get my thoughts straight!
