That's good. Out the 100+ mechanics I know I would trust about 2.
I've been burned. Tires Plus will only be doing tires for me. Their labor was good but the part was crap.

Of my good ones: One is just too expensive to use outside of desperate. The other is just not a convenient location. And well, The Volvo mechanic seems to do good work and reasonable labor - I'll change the wiper blades on that car.

My husband changed the wiper blades on my van in winter several years ago. Wiper snapped back and broke the cold windshield. Windshield was replaced with faulty glue. Years later said windshield was sucked off the van in a car wash. I was holding it on by the rear view mirror and drove home soaking wet and covered in unicorn colored soap.

Hubby’s not allowed to do windshield wipers now either.

When I was younger, I took my car in to get an oil change. I got it home and noticed the hood wasn't down all the way. The freakin mechanic left his screwdriver right on top of my engine! I was lucky the hood didn't blow open on the way home, it wasn't even latched. Have been changing my own oil since(hubby does it now)
free screwdriver!

So whoever changed this from oil changes to adding tire changing has jinxed me.
And if you don't know how to change a tire learn how to.
Was just headed to town and started hearing a thump thump thump. Nope wasn't me but the truck in front of me that I was coming up on fast.
They were putting along with a back tire that was flat and shredded. Was the same make and model and body style as my truck so I figured instead of passing I just hang out and wait for that tire to come completely off the rim. Figured maybe they didn't have a spare or something.
They finally pulled off the road so I pulled off behind them. Yeah some girl that had no clue but did actually have a spare.
She was pulled over on a gravel spot use for machinery to get into the field. Gravel and not level perfect. I have a floor jack in the back of my truck luckily because it would have been a lot of fun with the scissor jack.
Got her tire iron and what do you know it doesn't even fit her lug nuts. I have a four-way, luckily again. Get the truck jacked up and the lug nuts off. Pull the spare out hey what do you know it's flat. Her tires are 18s and mine are 17s but hey let me see if it'll work. What do you know same bolt pattern so my spare fits on and is only about a half inch shorter than her tire.
Told her the deal she said she was on her way to work but would have her spare fixed first thing in the morning. I followed until she turned off to go to the other direction and I guess everything was going fine. It worked out but now I have to track her down in a couple days and get my spare back. Could have been a hell of a lot worse.
Learn how to change a tire people. Just for emergency sake at least.

Pick 2.

That's why I always tell people: When changing the blades, DON'T LEAVE THE ARM UP!
