You were not the only one to say this and for the most part I agree. But you both have forgotten fresh fruit and salads. I like to squeeze a little lemon juice over my salad to finish it, and most fruits are benefitted by a little lemon as well, which prevents oxidizing. Grilled asparagus loves lemon, as does salmon and most other fish. I feel that lime has more limited application as it has a more distinctive flavor.Each has their place. Baking, lemon.
