Question on BBS breeding

I'm just curious, does the BBS breeding work the same if the birds are 2 different breeds? So if you crossed (just for example) a blue ameraucana rooster with a blue Orpington, would you still get blue, black and splash in the offspring?

Yes

(but blue x blue = blue & black)

It's a useful way to introduce blue into a breed.

Those are general percentages, but with smaller hatches, you will probably get slightly different ratios. For instance, with blue x black, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a blue or a black chick with each chick. And you cannot get splashes from blue x black. I've had all black and splash hatch from a blue x blue mating, for example, and no blues.
