My chickens are about 2 months old. How old will they be when they start laying??

I'm in Washington state...No one knows. I've had pullets start laying as young as 16 weeks. I've had some wait for 9 months to lay their first egg. Many start around 5 to 6 months but many things can affect that. Are you north or south of the equator? Days getting longer or shorter can affect that. How far from the equator, day length can have an affect. When they start can be inherited, when did their mother's start? Breed can have an effect, some breeds or mixes start earlier than others. How many do you have? The more you have the more the chances one will start earlier. How are they fed? One with a good balanced diet with sufficient protein will probably start before one with a worse diet.
There are just too many variables. Each one is an individual, even two full sisters raised together can start many weeks apart.
I'm still doing chicken starter food they can't eat the pellets yet. I don't know about their mom I bought all of my 11 chickens from a lady she said that they were reds and americana's but I've been told that there's other breeds in there...I'm in Washington state...

If you upload some pictures im sure the pros on here would be able to chip in and tell you what you have![]()
