I decided to take a stool sample to a vet for testing and I just got the results that she has tape worm and Ascarid. Ascarid I read is an internal parasite in the division of nematodes and is also know as round worm, is that correct? Could either of these two cause a distended abdomen? My hen hasn't been passing much through when she does eat *her bile is very green), and is very picky about eating, and not laying any eggs. So the Dr. said to weigh her and the rest of the flock and they would dispense medication for them all. I'm wondering since I have the Valbazen on order if I should just take meds for my ill acting hen to get her started on recovery and then dose the others when the Valbazen arrives, or would it be best just to do it all at once? Also since I have had the hen in quarantine indoors to keep her warm, I'm wondering if I should be ok to put her back with the rest of the flock (5 others). It's very cold out and she has been indoors for over a week and isn't used to upper 20 degree nights and I am wondering if I should keep her indoors still. Also I worry the other hens will pick on her after being gone over a week? Any recommendations on the worming questions or other questions I have asked would be greatly appreciated!
