Question re: cockerel "finding his voice"

So one of my Houdans began attempting to crow a couple of weeks ago. It sounds more like some kind of exotic bird call (kind of pretty and not too loud) than a rooster crow, and has not changed since he started. How long does it generally take from the time they start crowing to "find their real voice", so to speak? Is it a matter of days, weeks, months? Could this just be his actual crow?

It should start altering in a few weeks. Right now I have one that just started crowing and he sounds like a pony whinning

Ours sounded like a baby crying when he started, and within about three weeks he was sounding better. He still lets out some interesting sounds now and then. Must be the equivalent of a teenage boys voice cracking!

Our earliest crower started crowing at 9 weeks old and he sounded like a "real" rooster by about 13 weeks. He is now 15 weeks and won't shut up.

I can't imagine how loud he'll get!

My neighbor has a little frizzle and a Delaware who have "crow-offs" and i giggle every time the frizzle does his "Beeep-be-bee-beep!" There was a serma roo at the feed store the other day, he crowed and i seriously thought about replacing my roo with him, haha! I bet he wouldn't have lasted long here though

When I had my two roos start crowing, they kind of sounded like a chicken scream at first. The first time DH heard it, he was confused. He didn't know what it was. I had to tell him it was my bo orp that just started to crow well attempting to crow is better words. my cornish rooster had it down pat within a couple of weeks after starting. my two rhode island roo's that i had hadn't started yet at 12 weeks.

my roo started crowing at 21 weeks and every morning he gets up at 6 at the break of dawn and he crows from 5 to 9 times i enjoy it its gotten alot louder since he started 4 weeks ago hes now 25 weeks
