One of my Orpingtons is quiet. The other is quite loud. My Comet was VERY loud. My quietest chicken by far is my Brahma. I really think it varies among individual birds, though.

My husband and I are wanting to get relatively quiet birds for where we live. Are brahmas big
 
It depends. I have one EE that’s really quiet, and one EE that’s really loud. Varies between birds. I’ve never owned a Brahma but I think they tend to be quieter.

I know a brahma would be to big for our coop. Specially having to buy 6 at our local rural king and we have 3 chickens already.
