Questions about incubating Guinea Fowl Eggs!

I had a dozen guinea eggs, stuck them under an Old English Game cross banty hen and all the eggs but one rotted. So this little cock hatched out and he's still around. But I've heard that it's really hard to raise guineas from hatching eggs, the hatchibilitly rate is not good and it certainly wasn't in my case.

Sorry about your poor hatch.

I had a broody hen I couldn't break of being broody. I relented and gave her 10 guinea eggs. Twenty-six days later she hatched all 10 eggs.

Tomorrow is day 24. I'm thinking about candling then locking down. I will remove turner and up humidity. I have read to line the bottom with Saran Wrap and then put down shelf liner. So then I just set the eggs in there without regard to up or down or slant? Does the slant matter at this point, when placing the eggs in for lockdown?

My eggs are 29 days in the incubator and still nothing. I candled them at 23 days they were still alive and moving. What should I do? I have a still air incubator.

Was wondering when the latest anyone has had guinea eggs hatch. Had 6 out of 28 hatch 2 days early now its 2 days late at midnight tonight. And im wondering if i should just toss now

well, let me not declare any reasons or posts being writ by any other folks. to me the hatching day mainly begin from day 23-26 and the latest is day 27 sometimes 28.

in many ways, i believe that, between the african guineafowl and the cross-breed of U.S the are a bits of differences with the strategy of socialization and breeding movements.yes, they are the same species but with the new arrangements of gene flows.

i live at shoreline of S.A, ive been breeding and raising african guineas for more than 7 years. my case runs from the breeding strategy, even though i still wanna experience more about the cross breed species.
for e.g some people say, most of their guinea hens begin laying usaully between five to seven months old. eggs hatching from 26 to 28 days.solitary nesting of social broodiness.

on my side, that seem to be an reflection. most of our backyard guineahen usually begin laying when they reach their first year, never less! sometimes waiting for the next spring. hatch about 23 to 26 days. females tend to more monogamous with the nesting habitat. i found it rare to have more than one hen brooding or sharing the nest. unless the nest was in the coop. the keets grow very slowly than chicks and take time to reach the adulthood.

my experiences between the two same species.

Help, help!
We bought 5 keets this year as ALL My 6 remaining adults fell prey to coyote this last winter. I also bought 3 adults two months ago from the feed store. I was planning to buy an incubator later this year for next spring's eggs, however my "babies" have surprised me with a fall nest....I hastily ordered my incubator, a nice auto turn, all digital model that holds up to 40+ eggs, purports to be intelligent and I am terrified. I wasn't planning on no practice time. I already know my other guineas will kill the keets as they already killed my neighbors chicks that wandered in with their adopted guinea mom....so I need a game plan. I planned to let mom sit on them til the last week. I know the exact day she went to nest ( I take roll call every night☺)so my littleuns are due Thanksgiving day. My genius incubator has settings for chicken duck, dove, and other. I know I will have to probably manually override the automatic turner. I've never been so unsure in my life. Mind you this is not my first rodeo hatching. I've had chickens for a few years now and chicks every year, ALL year long, and yes I have had to intervene with slow hatchers but this here, is new territory. I don't feel confident at all, but too late to turn back now. From what I have read here, humidity is best set at 20-30% until lockdown at which 60%. Lockdown is different for guineas and others have said they have had early hatches, would a week before hatch lockdown be logical? Of course temp as I understand it is 37.8C. Any help would be very appreciated. Oh by the way I didn't mention there are 11 eggs. Not bad for a first time mama! I'm so proud. And scared.

Guineas typically hatch from days 26 through 28. I start lockdown on day 25.
