questions about lockdown time

I know the general rule to put eggs on lock down 3days before hatching. Is it ok to do it at 4 or 5 day befor hatching? Any experience doing this?

Sometimes when I am hatching eggs I will add them to the incubator over a 3 day period. But they all go into lockdown together 3 days before the first ones are due to hatch. I've not had any problems because of it.

Ok ty : ) what abput the humidity? Some one told me that in order to have to much that it would have to be extremely high to not worry about it.

I have a hard time breathing when the humidity is over 85% and I'm sure it affects chicks the same way.

is it ok to stack the rubber matting on top of each to make it higher to prop the eggs up higher cause the temp is lower down there.
