I have had my peacock & hen housed with 5 guineas since last fall & all was well...untill about 3 weeks ago. Gineas like to see themselves in a mirror, I waited for fair weather then installed a large mirror from the thrift store in the outdoor run, the peacock was injuring himself in attacking the "other peacock" in the mirror so we took it out. Then they began going after each other, well 5 against 1 was not very good odds, we came home one day to find the peacock had a large gash on his neck. We decided they needed to be separated so until we can build a new roost for the guineas they are let out to free range during the day & the peas have the run of the coop & fenced yard, at night the peas are shut in the coop with the guineas in the outdoor fenced portion.I'm sure this was all brought on because it's mating season but my peahen just layed her first egg & I'm sure there are more to come, I'm afraid the guineas may harm any hatchlings we may get if kept together.
