Questions about showing-bad roo and leg bands??

Against ABA (not sure about APA) rules to put cardboard or any other opaque material between cages. I have seen birds disqualified for excessive aggression, and heard judges say that if a bird is so aggressive that it attacks, to leave it at home. In particular, this comment was made in reference to an asil.

Really? I've seen it at all of the shows I've been to recently.
Maybe it is a difference in judges, etc.
The biggest show I saw it at was Shawnee...I hope this isn't enforced because I have a Gray Call drake that likes to poke his neighbors pretty relentlessly-we have to put something between him and the cages next to him.

There is nothing in either Standard that allows for a judge to disqualify a bird for behavior. IF that actually happened the owner would be in position to contest the decision & would win.

You can put clear plastic between cages. It is a relatively recent rule--within the last couple of years. Since it went into effect, I have seen fewer use of cardboard than I used to. I was surprised to see some at Shawnee.

Yes. It is true. Several years ago at Tucson. Do not recall the judges. I do recall the mention at the banquet where he said something pretty close to" if your bird is going to bite or spur the judge, leave it at home." There was more, but that was the gest of the message.

So Visquine(sp) or something like that is OK, then?
I don't know how well that will work for my drake-if he can see them, he'll be poking at them, I'm afraid.

Ahh, thanks for the info, that explains a few things. We've had issues with neighboring birds before pulling feathers and pecking some of ours. I'll be sure to have something clear for this season.
