Questions about the 50/50 ratio in hatching

I don't agree with the above in mamals yes, in chickens no.
In chickens gender is determined not by X and Y chromosones. But rather by ZZ:ZW chromosone system. That of which is highly affected by the estrogen. The chicken embryo resembles lower vertebrates in that estrogens play a central role in gonadal sex differentiation. Not to say she can choose but she does infact influence her offspring. In case your wondering ZZ is the boy and ZW the girl.
You guys are right. I was thinking mammals. Sorry about that! That you for correcting me. The ZZ:ZW system is correct for birds.

Sorry!

Yes, I already knew about the ZZ:ZW, and that it's the hen that determines the sex of her offspring. But, sometimes she'll lay several roo eggs or several hen eggs in a row;

So, basically, unless you hatch 100s or 1000s like hatcheries, you're more likely to get a unequal ratio of males to females.

Right?

I don't have anything to contribute, but I just wanted to thank you all for typing these answers out. It's all very interesting.

I find when I hatch eggs I get an equal amount of each I hatched out 6 slw 3 roos 3 hens. My own eggs I hatched I hatched two roos out of 7
