Questions! First goose on a nest.

isn't it exciting when the 1st egg is laid my African brown laid an egg tues I took the egg out and put a fake egg there and today I saw another she is burying them good. I will replace that one with a fake egg I no these probably aren't fertile I am going to have a biggg omelet this week end. she is laying in a wood pile in there pen. I am not sure weather to let her sit or not.

They've laid just a couple of eggs so far. I broke one for omelets and it was absolutely fertile. They're now burying the eggs and nesting in an old a frame coop. Setting havaheart traps tonight. Something stole the eggs (climbed the fence??) ugh.

I've gpt pictures of a raccoon, fox and opossum on the game camera outside of the pen. Put the game camera inside the pen for one night - it makes a click noise when it takes a pic - had over 100 pictures of the geese playing with it.

If a raccoon or any other critter can climb over you may lose more than eggs. Raccoons are brutal and will kill geese too.

That's funny the geese were playing with the camera.

MissLydia I don't think I want babies this year all my girls are under a year brooding can be stress full. also I need to get rid of some males .
