We made it through the winter almost perfectly! I was letting them have some free range time- the weather hasn’t been terrible. 40-50 degrees the entire week
But yesterday morning he was fine, and he was fine all day- I was checking on them throughout the day periodically. But when I went to do my nightly chicken count he wasn’t there. He was on my porch, soaked and hiding. His little comb has some frost bite (I believe)
And he also has some foot feathers that look to be pulled out/a bit bloody.
He’s inside, we got him dried off and warm (I have NO IDEA why he was wet? No one else was. Maybe he didn’t seek shelter during the few spits of rain we had? Or fell in a puddle?)
I’m just letting him rest, and giving him time to heal
Is there anything specific I should be doing to help him? Is there a specific treatment plan for frost bitten combs I should follow?
Or is TLC all he needs (and I would post a photo but I’m doing this on my lunch break and don’t have one)
