Questions From A Total Newb On Quail

1. Are there any decent quail books or other resources like a Storey's Guide?
Depends on the type of quail you're getting.

2. If you were getting an incubator that would be just for quail (since I have no roosters, I won't be hatching any chickens) what would you get?

3. Do people use movable pens for quail, like a "chicken tractor", only smaller?
Also depends on the type of quail you decide upon.

4. What breed would you recommend for a beginner?
I have never raised any type of quail, except Button Quail - I enjoy them very much indeed - but others have different opinions.

Ex Model Is A Fine Unit.. But For The Money The Eco Cant Be Beat... I Have Several In Different Sizes And See No Desire To Get The Humidity Pump For Any Of Them. Both 20's And 40's Hold A Perfect Range For What I Do With Them As They Are Right Out Of The Box... So Its Hard For Me To Cough Up Something Like ?? $130.00 Dolaars On An Un-needed Gadget. But To Each Their Own! I Use My Brinseas For All The Difficult And Rare High Dollar Speces. I Have Several Cooler Bators But Use Them For The Everyday Run Of The Mill Eggs, Not The Ones Worth 15+ Dollars A Piece. Of Course When I Dont Have Any High Dollar Eggs I Use The Brinseas Before I Set In The Cooler-bators. If An Added Expense Is To Be Tacked On To A Brinsea Octagom Model I Recommend The Auto Turning Cradle 1st Before All Else. Even That Isnt A Real Necessity As The Design Makes Self/ Hand Turning Quite Easy...
