Questions - New to geese - and here's Charlie!

I have great news!! Edouard has been found this evening - alive and well! He was in the ditch, no doubt drawn by the very green wheat field across the road. When my husband went to catch him, he flew halfway across an 80-acre field before he stopped! Here's a picture of him, in a more secure pen until we can make the other space more secure. Thank you for all of your help! :)

So glad you found him. I do believe he had a fight with Charlie and did crawl out. So glad you found him...

I think the same as Ruru. I´m also wondering if maybe they aren´t actually a pair, as it´s strange he wandered so far away. How far did they come from the seller´s house? Is it within goose hearing range? Are they behaving like a pair now?

The chinese is far more likely to be the aggressor than the toulouse, too. I reckon that if they are a true pair, maybe he got frightened and took off, but i can´t understand why he left the goose.
.
One of mine cleared a 6' fence before now when i separated 2 older goslings from parents. She was determined to be with mom, thank you!

Glad he´s back. It´ll be a good thing if you can find a chinese gal for Charlie, too. You may need to keep them separated during the breeding season.
